Michael Leng Memorial Blood Drive
Michael Leng, had been battling with a rare liver & bile duct disease called Biliary Atresia. He passed away on Sunday September 03, 2017 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center awaiting a liver transplant. While waiting, he had recurring eposides of gastrointestinal, esophageal and varices bleeding, which required him to receive blood & platelets transfusion daily to keep him alive. Although blood & platelets transfusion alone did not save him, it gave family and friends time to say good bye.
This event was/is to help give back to the hospital for all their supplies for not only Michael, but many others that require blood to save their lives! All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Transplant Institute Team at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center for further research, labs, procedures and/or equipment needed for all patients suffering from a liver disease. If you wish to help Please schedule a date to donate at REDCROSSBLOOD.ORG using code MICHAEL LENG
